MULTI-DAY TRIP COSTA LISBOA

During this multi-day trip to the Costa de Lisboa, we combine comfort, culture, and free time. From our accommodation in the elegant Estoril, we will explore the highlights of Lisbon and the surrounding region together with a Dutch-speaking guide. Every morning, there is a group program planned, while the afternoons are free for you to enjoy at your own pace. We dine together every evening at the hotel, including wine, and travel comfortably by coach. A relaxing and varied journey along city, coast, and royal history.

Day 1: Welcome to the Portuguese Riviera

We fly late in the morning from Brussels to Lisbon. Upon arrival, we will be greeted at the airport and board our comfortable coach. Together with our Dutch-speaking guide, we will drive directly to the coast. Along the way, we receive a first introduction to Portugal, the Costa de Lisboa region, and the places we will visit in the coming days.

Afterwards, we drive to Estoril, where we arrive in the afternoon at Hotel Inglaterra.

The rest of the afternoon is free to spend as you wish. You may take a walk along the boulevard towards Cascais or relax on a terrace by the sea. A calm and pleasant start to our trip. In the evening, we dine together at the hotel.

During this trip, we stay at the comfortable Hotel Inglaterra, located in elegant Estoril. This stylish hotel combines classic charm with modern facilities and forms a pleasant base on the Portuguese Riviera.

The hotel is within walking distance of the beach, the coastal promenade, and the center of Estoril. The lively Cascais is also easily accessible. Thanks to its quiet location, we can relax here after a day full of impressions.

Hotel Inglaterra offers comfortable rooms, a restaurant where we dine together every evening, and a bar to end the day in a cozy atmosphere. In good weather, it is delightful to relax by the outdoor pool or on the terrace.

Because of the combination of comfort, good service, and a convenient location, Hotel Inglaterra is a great place to stay during this varied trip along Lisbon, Sintra, and the Atlantic coast.

Day 2: Royal Sintra and the Palácio da Pena

Today, we travel in two smaller buses to the green and fairytale-like Sintra, beautifully situated in the hills just outside Lisbon. Already during the ride, we notice how the landscape gradually changes into an environment full of forests, palaces, and stately villas. Together with our Dutch-speaking guide, we first explore the historic center, where narrow streets, squares, and traditional buildings recall the long and rich history of this special place.

Then we drive further into the hills to the absolute highlight of the day: the Palácio da Pena. This colorful and romantic palace sits high above Sintra and is one of Portugal’s most iconic landmarks. During the visit, we discover the unique architecture, where various styles come together, and learn more about the Portuguese royal family and life at court. Additionally, we enjoy the beautiful views over Sintra and the surrounding green hills, an excellent moment for photos.

After the joint morning program, the afternoon is free to explore Sintra further on your own. We can have lunch wherever and whenever we like and take all the time to stroll through the charming streets, visit small shops, or relax on a terrace in the lively center.

In the afternoon, we return by coach to Estoril, where we can reflect on an impressive day full of nature, history, and royal allure.

Day 3: Historic Lisbon (Group 1 reverses days 2 and 3)

After breakfast, we depart by coach to Lisbon for an extensive introduction to the Portuguese capital. Together with our Dutch-speaking guide, we discover the city during a varied combination of a city tour and short walks. We drive through different neighborhoods and get a good impression of the contrast between historic and modern Lisbon.

We visit, among others, the Belém district, where we pause to reflect on Portugal’s rich maritime history. Here we see iconic landmarks such as the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos and the Torre de Belém (outside visits) and hear stories about the great voyages of discovery. Of course, there is time to take photos and experience the atmosphere of this special place.

We also explore the heart of the city with neighborhoods like Baixa and Rossio. During short walks through narrow streets and lively squares, the guide tells us about daily life, history, and culture in Lisbon. From one of the well-known viewpoints, we enjoy a beautiful panorama of the city and the Tagus River.

After the joint morning program, the afternoon is free to further explore Lisbon on your own. Visit a museum, take a ride on a historic tram, or enjoy a drink at a terrace in one of the lively neighborhoods.

At the end of the afternoon, we return to Estoril.

Day 4: Cascais and the Atlantic Coast

This morning, we explore on foot, together with our Dutch-speaking guide, the charming coastal town of Cascais and the impressive Atlantic coast. We walk through the historic center, past atmospheric squares and the marina, and learn more about the time when Cascais was a favorite seaside resort for the Portuguese nobility.

In the afternoon, we have free time in Cascais. We can have lunch on our own and relax at the beach, visit shops, or sit down on a terrace with a sea view.

At the end of the afternoon, we walk back to Estoril for a relaxing evening and the last group dinner at the hotel.

Day 5: Farewell to Portugal

On this day, check-out is at 12:00 PM. After that, luggage can be stored in the baggage room. If you wish, you can visit Cascais or travel to Lisbon by public transport. Around 17:00–17:30, we will depart by coach to Lisbon Airport, from where we will fly back to Brussels, carrying wonderful memories of a varied and relaxing trip along the Costa de Lisboa.
