City Trip to ’s-Hertogenbosch

On Saturday, September 19, we will go on a pleasant and educational city trip to ’s-Hertogenbosch, also known as Den Bosch. This charming and historic city in the south of the Netherlands is known for its beautiful medieval architecture, atmospheric streets, and of course the world-famous Bossche Bol. A delicacy that every visitor must try.

Morning: Bossche Bollen Workshop

Our day begins with a special and tasty Bossche Bollen workshop. Under the guidance of an experienced pastry chef, you will learn step-by-step how to make these delicious chocolate balls yourself. During the workshop, you will get hands-on experience and make two Bossche Bollen per person. This workshop is not only fun but also a unique opportunity to discover a true local specialty up close.

Afternoon: Visit to the Mini Museum ‘The Bossche Bollen Experience’

After the workshop, we will visit the mini museum ‘The Bossche Bollen Experience.’ This small but very informative museum takes you through the rich history of the Bossche Bol and the special role this delicacy plays in the culture of Den Bosch. You will discover how the Bossche Bol has evolved over the years, which ingredients are used, and why this treat is so beloved by both residents and tourists.

Due to the compact nature of the museum, a maximum of six people can enter at the same time. Every ten minutes, a new group starts the Bossche Bollen Experience, allowing everyone to enjoy the exhibition calmly and personally.

Bossche Bollen Walk through the City Center

If you want to learn even more after the workshop and museum visit, there is a special Bossche Bollen walk planned. This interactive and historical walk takes you through the atmospheric city center of Den Bosch, where you will further discover the story of the Bossche Bol. The walk can be done independently with the people you choose. You will receive a handy route map with different QR codes indicated. By scanning these codes at certain locations in the city with your phone, you will get interesting explanations, fun facts, and historical background information directly to read or listen to.

Schedule for the Day:

09:00 am          
Departure by coach to ’s-Hertogenbosch from the DAF site. You can park your car at P28 (parking lot past the PV Pavilion). We expect to arrive in ’s-Hertogenbosch around 09:45.

Start of the Bossche Bollen Workshop

12:00 AM
Group division for the visit to the Mini Museum ‘The Bossche Bollen Experience’ Also, the route map for the Bossche Bollen Walk through the City Center will be handed out.

14:00 PM
The rest of the afternoon is free to explore ’s-Hertogenbosch on your own

16:30 PM
The coach will be ready to take us back to DAF Eindhoven, where we expect to arrive around 17:15.

Price

DAF Eindhoven Staff Association offers this city trip to ’s-Hertogenbosch to its members and resident family members for only €29.00 per person (non-members pay €35.00 per person).
